The Project

The voices behind Borderscapes 2022 belongs to a group of 14 passionate Masters students at the University of Sussex, diving into the complexities of physical and conceptual borders. Not only has each student produced an episode for this season, but they have also been organizing web design, distribution, graphics and sound and music.

This season of Borderscapes will explore perspectives on borders through a variety of episodes, through genes such as essays, discussions and dramas. According to ‘Theory of Border’ by Thomas Nail, there is a large variety of borders in modern times than there has been in history. The term border defines different aspects of our everyday lives. From political wars to nationalist movements, climate change to the digital world – more often than not, borders can seem impossible and persistent.

Currently, the team is still busy working on their podcast episodes. However, you can find last year’s episodes – just head to Borderscapes to listen to what the team got up to last year!
