Jacqueline de Beaudrap

I was born in western Canada, and recieved a PhD in Mathematics as a member of the Institute for Quantum Computing at the University of Waterloo in 2009. From 2016 – 2019 I was an acting Work Package Leader in the Networked Quantum Information Technologies project, the first instance of the UK National Quantum Technologies programme.

I am currently an Assistant Professor in Theoretical Computer Science in the Department of Informatics at the University of Sussex. I'm also involved in the Masters in Quantum Technologies programme organised in the Department of Physics. I lead an informal Quantum Architectures, Software, and Informatics (quasi) group. My University profile is here.

My research is predominantly in:

While I do not have any funded opportunities at this time for PhD candidates, I am happy to supervise talented students who want to do a PhD in quantum technologies or computational complexity at the University of Sussex, and who can secure their own funding. (Brighton is also an excellent place to live!) We sometimes offer scholarships to exceptional students. Feel free to send me unofficial enquiries about PhD topics — but you need to officially apply here.
