The data as described in #20.4 may be saved to a ``*.dat'' file as the attractor basins are drawn. The following prompt is presented:

Enter ``1'' or ``2'' to select the level of data to be saved. If saving data is selected, further prompts will appear to set the file name etc. (see filing #28). The format of the ascii data file (and the decoding of the data) is shown in the examples in #20.7 below.
