If the network was set to have a neighbourhood mix, ``n'' may be selected in #14.5 above to change the neighbourhood size of a cell. The following additional prompt appears,

The new neighbourhood will preserve as much as possible of the old neighbourhood wiring. If the new neighbourhood is bigger, the wiring at the extra pseudo-neighbourhood indices is set as regular 1d or 2d with periodic boundary conditions.
If a rule scheme has been set (see #13), the existing rule table (or part of it if the new neighbourhood size is smaller) will be preserved Any excess rule table entries are set to 0.
