This research seeks to contribute to contemporary debates in international theory, from a historical materialist perspective. This includes work on:
- theories of global governance
- the limitations of Foucauldian and post-structuralist approaches to International Relations
- the philosophy and politics of Edward Said
- political Marxism and the study of IR
