Galileo @ Roedean - The Roedean workshops

This has been a most rewarding example of inter-school co-operation. The efficiency and support of the staff and parents at our partner schools has been beyond all expectations. When we consider that this whole project has been put together in virtually two and a half days of actual contact time, it is an enormous tribute to everyone involved.

Above and beyond all the adults listed - the people deserving the most congratulations are the children themselves. Their adaptability and focused concentration on their specific tasks, both here and in their own schools has been admirable. The mixture of different age-groups from different schools, working together under considerable constraints of time and in unfamiliar surroundings, might have fazed some adults - but not the Galileans!

My task of producing this booklet and the web site has been made really easy by the hard work of others. Firstly, I'd like to thank all the students involved in the Galileo event - not just those who have contributed material to the booklet and web site but all who have participated. Their enthusiasm and commitment was astonishing! I'd also like to thank all the staff and parents involved - particularly the staff at Roedean who were all so hospitable, energetic and supportive. Frances Hillier masterminded the whole thing with immense competence.

This web site will gradually evolve - keep watching!
