Neurorobotic Models in
Neuroscience and Neuroinformatics
A full-day satellite workshop of the
8th International Conference on the Simulation of Adaptive Behavior (SAB2004)

Adaptive behavior in biological organisms results from interactions among brains, bodies, and environments. We propose in this workshop to explore neurorobotic approaches to understanding these interactions. A key feature of these approaches is the incorporation of features of neuroanatomy or neurophysiology that allow comparison with empirical data.

[SCHEDULE]

[ABSTRACTS]

Themes:

1. Motor control and locomotion

2. Hippocampus and memory systems

3. Reward systems and action selection

4. Neurodynamics

Organizers:

Jeff Krichmar (The Neurosciences Institute)

Anil Seth (The Neurosciences Institute)

Olaf Sporns (Indiana University)

Auke Ijspeert (EPFL)

Ricardo Chavarriaga (EPFL)

Each theme will occupy a separate session of two hours. Each session will consist of presentations by invited speakers and time for discussion among all participants.
Please join us for what is certain to be a stimulating day.

The workshop will be held in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, CA, USA, on July 17, 2004, immediately after the SAB2004 meeting.

Arrangements have been made for a special issue of Neuroinformatics based on the contents
of the workshop. More details will be available later.
